Road Runner Challenge 2019

Saturday 6th April to Sunday 14th April 2019

What is the Road Runner Challenge?

The idea originated from two of our popular and highly successful fundraising challenges, John O’Groats to Land’s End (JOGLE) and the NC500. Both above tours require the rider to travel to the start point in Scotland and back home post event this itself was a challenge, but not much fun traveling on your own?

The Road Runner Challenge was created to cater for all needs above and for 2019 to open it up to more riders you now have 3 options to either complete the full challenge, Northern or Southern Challenge. John o Groats to Lands’ End is one for the bucket list and for those not familiar with the NC500, this is a 500-mile circular tour of Scotland on some of the best biking roads the UK has to offer.

The challenge will follow a route utilising all A and B roads incorporating the JOGLE, the NC500 most of our National Parks and the best scenery our country has to offer. 2019 is our third year running the RRC and with some hardened soles coming back each year they must be a gluten for punishment or they enjoy it! This really is the ultimate tour of the UK and what better way to do it and raise some money for Bike Tours for the Wounded and support our Veterans.

Overview of the Road Runner Challenge?

The event will start at our pre-tour function on Saturday 6th April 2019 at the Hilton Hotel, East Midlands Airport, DE74 2YW. Why not join us for our Peaks and Dales Ride out on the Saturday before relaxing at the function?

The function is for all our tours in and challenges in 2019 where your pre-tour briefing will cover any questions before heading North the next morning, this is a chance to meet the other riders taking on this challenge.

The following morning greeted with hopefully blue sky and sunshine will be day one of the challenge and hopefully 8 days later we will all be sat having a beer having completed our goal regaling stories of our challenge.

The Route

Each daily route has been tried, tweaked and tested over the last two years and allows you to experience some of the best roads and scenery the UK has to offer.

The mileage on some days is a challenge, however with time management without the use of excessive speed you will be able complete this challenge comfortably and of course take time to enjoy the scenery and of course coffee and cake stops!
