Saturday 21st April to Sunday 29th April 2018
What is the Road Runner Challenge?
The idea originated from two of our popular and highly successful fundraising challenges, John O’Groats to Land’s End (JOGLE) and the NC500. With both of these tours there’s a need to ride to the start point in Scotland and back home post event, hence the Road Runner Challenge was devised which is a full tour of the UK. John o Groats to Lands’ End is one for the bucket list and for those not familiar with the NC500, this is a 500 mile circular tour of Scotland on some of the best biking roads the UK has to offer. On this challenge you will ride all A and B roads and not only incorporating the JOGLE and the NC500, but some our National Parks and the best scenery our country offers us.
Welcome to our
‘Road Runner Challenge’
The event will start at our pre tour function on Saturday 21st April 2018 at the Hilton Hotel, East Midlands Airport, DE74 2YW.
This is a function for all of our tours and challenges where you pre tour briefing will take place prior to setting off the next morning, this is also a chance to meet the other riders and pillions taking on this challenge . The following morning greeted with blue sky and sunshine we will be waved off by the other guest of the pre tour function from the night before, this will be day one of the challenge and hopefully 8 days later we will all be sat having a beer having completed our goal?
We have opened this up to two groups to accommodate scooters, motorcycles and trikes:
Class 1 – Anyone with a Scooter or Motorcycle up to 300cc. This class caters for the Vespa’s, Lambretta, Scooter’s and maybe some of the older motorcycles.
Class 2– This is an open class for any Scooter, Motorcycle or Trike over 300cc. This class caters for any rider who would like to be considered to carry as a pillion one of our Wounded, Injured or Sick Service Personnel (WIS).
Each daily route will allow you to experience some of the best roads and scenery the UK has to offer.
The mileage for this challenge is listed below, there is an option on day 5 to cut out some of the mileage, but this would also cut out some of the NC 500.
All the mileages were achievable in 2017 with time management without excessive speed so you can enjoy the ride and the countryside.
• £95-00 Rider
• £145-00 Rider and Pillion
