I was injured in December 2013 which resulted in me being unable to stand, never mind walk. It was touch and go whether or not I would make it out of hospital and this had a massive impact on both me and my family. It is to the credit of the Team as a whole that they made me feel at ease as best they could and I departed on what was most definitely the highlight of the last 2 years of my life. It took a while to get into the swing of things with new faces but it was at my own pace and the Team were conscious not to push the situation. I had an absolutely fantastic time and made a lot of new friends whom I will remain in contact with. Upon my return to the UK my family remarked on how well I looked and how it was good to see me back at my Cheeky self! This tour was the kick up the behind that I so obviously needed and the hope is that I will not allow myself to slip back to the darkness that so often consumes WIS soldiers.
