After our very successful JOGLE and NC500 motorcycle tours we have decided to add an even bigger challenge. But be aware, for some this is NOT for the faint hearted!
By joining this challenge you will be helping support our Wounded, Injured and Sick Serving and Veterans of our British Armed Forces and the continued support Bike Tours for the Wounded offer as part of their recovery process.
Welcome to our…’Road Runner Challenge’
This tour welcomes in the Spring with a fresh, inspiring and querky 2,000 mile journey combining the traditional JOGLE (John O’Groats to Land’s End) with the stunning roads of the NC500 (Scottish North Coast) and some of our most beautiful National Parks,all on A and B roads sat astride Scooters, Motorcycles,Trikes and even Classics………

Lunch will be taken at a supermarket in each of the towns above where there will be a group of volunteers from Bike Tours for the Wounded collecting donations from customers.
Details of the supermarkets in the respective towns will be published once confirmed.
Day or Multiple Day Rides
If you are looking at this and thinking I would like to do it, but cannot afford the week off work or time away from the family then why not join the tour for a day or multiple days?
- Daily donation £20-00 per bike/per day.
Some examples are the Exeter ring in Cornwall for a single days ride or the Inverness Ring (NC500) for two days of riding. If interested and want any more information phone Mark on 07799335534
Southern Group Starting Point
Anyone wishing to start from the South can start the tour on Thursday 30th March 2017 from Exeter. You would then meet the main group on the Friday evening for the briefing riding the next 7 days with the group finishing your challenge in Exeter or home on Friday 7th April 2017.
Northern Group Starting Point
Anyone wishing to start from the North can start the tour on Sunday 2nd April 2017 from Carlisle. This is where you would meet the main group riding the next 7 days finishing your challenge in Carlisle or home on Sunday 9th April 2017.
CLASS 1 – Under 125cc – Twist and Go Scooter, Moped, Honda C90, Monkey Bike (NOT NEW)
CLASS 2 – Over 125cc to 300cc – Scooters, Vespa, Lambretta style, Motorcycles and Classics
CLASS 3 – Over 300cc – Any Scooter, Motorcycle,Trike and Classics.
Who is eligible?
- Anyone with a full Motorcycle license
- Anyone with a current C.B.T pass certificate in date
- Anyone with a full car licence and passed your test before 2001 can ride a scooter on ‘L’
- Anyone with a full car licence who passed their test after 2001 or anyone who has a
provisional licence will have to take their C.B.T.
Please consider taking one of our Wounded, Injured or Sick (WIS) Service Personnel and Veterans as your pillion rider on the road runner challenge. Limited spaces and only suitable for experienced riders with larger motorcycles.
As a Solo Rider you can be considered for 1 of 30 Marshall’s required to help our ‘Run Leaders’
Solo Rider Challenge Prize
The rider in each Class who completes the event and raises the most in fundraising will receive a Winners plaque and a Bike Tours for the Wounded Hoodie.
Team Event Challenge
Involve your biker buddies, work colleagues or family members together and enter a team of three for our team challenge to win a Bike Tours for the Wounded each and a Winners plaque to share.
A – Any three people riding in Class 1
B – Any three people riding in Class 2
C – Any three people riding in Class 3
D – Any group of three people riding in a combination of classes (i.e. one from class 1, 2 & 3 or two from any class and one from another)
Don’t forget to give your team a ‘Fun’ name…nothing rude or offensive please!!
Terms and Conditions:
The winning team must:
- Have all three team members complete the event on their respective motorcycle.
- And be the team who achieves the most in fundraising
* £145 Rider & Own Pillion
Cost includes – End of tour buffet meal for all participants completing the challenge that are residents of the hotel. Those staying overnight in the Mickleover Hotel will have use of the hotel swimming pool and leisure facilities to rest any aching muscles and bones.
Excludes – All Accommodation, food, drink and any other personal costs. These are the responsibility of the rider/pillion.
£300 Fundraising Target Per Bike
One or more of the days riding will be in Fancy Dress to enhance your fundraising efforts.
