At Bike Tours for The Wounded we run what we believe is the opportunity for Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) Service Personnel and Veterans to have a life changing experience through the medium of motorcycle pillion riding. These adventures are not jollies, they are not for everyone and they can be tough on both body and mind. To be accepted on a pillion funded place you will need to be willing and wanting a rewarding life challenge experience through the historic Wild West.
As a challenge rider you have a unique opportunity to help and support these brave men and women achieve their challenge whilst you fulfill one of your motorcycling ambitions.
The challenge rides offer some of the most stunning scenery the Wild West of America has to offer. (Riding through Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado).

Day 3: Bryce Canyon to Blanding, UT

The morning starts with visit to the four corners monument. This monument marks the quadripoint in the Southwestern United States where the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah meet. It is the only point in the United States shared by four states. The monument also marks the boundary between two semi-autonomous Native American governments, the Navajo Nation, which maintains the monument as a tourist attraction, and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe Reservation.
Day 5: Springerville to Tombstone, AZ
Approximate mileage: 269 miles
This is a pretty amazing days riding and scenery. As we leave Springerville, we head out on what used to be known as the Devil’s Highway Route 666 through the small towns of Alpine and Hannagan’s meadow. The views are truly spectacular as is the riding of course! The route between Springerville and Morenci was designated a National Scenic Byway and given the name of Coronado Trail Scenic Byway.
We take a break for lunch at the Morenci Copper Mine, the largest copper mining operation in North America, and one of the largest copper mines in the world.
Continuing our ride, we head south to the historic town on Tombstone for dinner and a drink at Big Nose Kate’s saloon bar which has been the setting for many a TV / movie western.
Day 6: Rest day in Tombstone, AZ
Approximate mileage: 0 miles
This is your opportunity to explore all that Tombstone has to offer. There are numerous historical sites and plenty of places to pick up your souvenirs. Oh and of course, we might have a surprise to two up our sleeves too!
Day 7: Tombstone to Carefree, AZ
Approximate mileage: 244 miles
Today we head West parallel with the Mexican border to Sonoita where turn right through Tuscon and phoenix to an old haunt of ours for an amazing experience at a real biker bar north of Phoenix.
After a refreshing drink and some shelter from the heat we ride a short distance to the hotel resort where the pool awaits you. Following a refreshing and relaxing dip in the pool, we head back into the town for an evening meal and some entertainment at the local rodeo.
Day 8: Carefree to Lake Havasu City, AZ
Approximate mileage: 203 miles
We ride to the town of Wickenburg, an old cowboy town, before the ride up to the Pirates Den for lunch and relaxation on the Colorado river. This stage of the tour normally sees the temperatures rise into the high 90’s and low 100’s. Sun cream and plenty of ice cold water are the order of the day. After lunch, we ride north along the Colorado river to Lake Havasu City for the night. This is where the “London Bridge” is situated.
Day 9: Lake Havasu City to Las Vegas, NV
Approximate mileage: 217 miles
Today is our last days riding. We have a great days riding in store for you as we head through north for a world famous milkshake in Kingman before taking the Oatman trail into one of our favourite places in the US. Donkey Town as it has become known by all of our tour veterans has undergone a tourism renaissance of sorts in recent years, thanks to worldwide interest in Route 66. Oatman’s most famous attractions are its wild burros (Donkeys), which freely roam the town.
After lunch, we ride to Laughlin and Searchlight before ending the tour in Las Vegas. Once the bikes have been handed back you are able to explore the sights and sounds of the city, but remember , what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!
